Paula has owned A Cut Above Hair Design since 1990. Even after thirty three years, Paula is always looking for new and improved ways to educate her clients and staff by bringing Professional Educators into the salon. Her education in Wella dimensional color and foil placement is the key to a great new look for all her clients. Paula’s love of hairstyling has never diminished. She enjoys creating new up styles for bridal runway shows and for brides who seek out the best in up styles for their big day. She attends numerous classes in hairstyling products and techniques. Paula has also has continued her education with Yves Durif in New York, Wella, R&CO,  and is certified in Brazilian Blowouts.  Paula is also the proud owner of That Look Salon in East Lyme, CT. KrisStylist
Kris has been a hair stylist since 2006 and has been with A Cut Above Hair Design since 2009. She is a confident and passionate stylist that is always furthering her education to keep her skills sharp and to stay on top of the current hair trends. She is a compassionate mother of two who likes to live a healthy active lifestyle to be the best version of herself. Helping people feel good inside and out is her driving motivation.

Jessica has been with our salon since 2016 after she finished cosmetology school at Paul Mitchell. She specializes in many different styles of color such as foil highlights or lowlights, balayage, blondes, and fashion colors. She continues her education with classes as the industry is always changing. Jessica wants to make sure all her clients feel beautiful once they leave her chair.

Mia Has had an amazing year of growing and redefining herself as a stylist at A Cut Above. She has developed a passion for blonding and dimensional brunettes. Mia’s goal is to provide her clients with a safe space where they can feel comfortable being their authentic, beautiful self.
Morgan

My name is Morgan, I’m 20 years old. I started cosmetology school right out of high school and graduated from TIGI in 2022. … I discovered my passion for hair in high school when my friends started coming to me for all things hair.
I hope to make every client in my chair feel comfortable and confident while giving them the tools and information they need to continue their own hair journey.
My favorite line of products right now is Color Wow and R+CO. They both have a wide variety of products that suit any hair texture/pattern.

Makenna
MakennaStylist
Makenna graduated from Tigi Hairdressing Academy, Guildford, CT in 2023. Her goal is to make every client who sits in her chair feel confident and beautiful. Makenna enjoys Cuts, Colors, Perms and Braiding and is also certified in TRYBE, Barbacide, MOB, Brazillian and Keratin Blowouts.
